A circular fabric specimen mounted on the holder rubs against standard abrasive material in a Lissajous motion (24mm or 60.5mm stroke) under controlled pressure. Abrasion resistance is determined by monitoring specimen degradation at set intervals until failure.
Two fabric specimens rub against each other in a Lissajous pattern under specified load. Post-test, surface changes (pilling, fuzzing) are visually compared against standards to assess pilling resistance.
