The primary function of this Electric Iron Drop Test Apparatus is to test the mechanical strength of electric irons, excluding cordless models, by simulating real-world drop scenarios. Additionally, it evaluates the drop resistance of control devices for electric blankets, ensuring their durability and reliability.
The testing procedure involves suspending the electric iron by its handle using a motor-driven cam mechanism. The iron is then dropped from a height of 40mm onto a rigid supporting steel plate with a thickness of at least 15mm and a mass of at least 15kg. This process is repeated 1000 times at a frequency not exceeding 20 drops per minute. During each cycle, the iron remains on the steel plate for approximately 15% of the time, mimicking actual usage conditions.
